"Tilly is playing with her telephone. Who is she talking to?" She is not talking to Teddy, Rabbit, Puppy Dog, or Giraffe--all stuffed animals who are otherwise occupied. Instead, Tilly has Mommy on her toy phone, and "Mommy says it's bathtime!" Dodds asks questions that invite reader participation, and the illustrations, featuring plenty of white space, contain hints of what comes next.
