In this simple story, Gil the ant goes from friend to friend, asking "What day is it?" When no one seems to know, a disappointed Gil thinks everyone has forgotten his birthday. Luckily he's been carrying around a party hat, because his friends throw him a surprise party. The appropriately predictable story, with lots of visual clues in the computer illustrations, is nevertheless slight.
