Robin Spowart.
A mouse family's Hanukkah celebration is simply described in an awkward and singsongy rhyme. The warm pastel illustrations are far more appealing (though unvaried), and the back of the book features a retelling of the Hanukkah story, blessings for lighting the candles, a recipe for potato pancakes, dreidel directions, and words and music to "O Hanukkah." The book will be useful for introducing the very young to the holiday.
