Yoshi Miyake.
The young narrator and his older brother visit a Japanese boy and his family. Much cultural information is worked naturally into the story, which also introduces some Japanese words and phrases. Although the narrator's voice doesn't always ring true, the inclusion of both positive and negative experiences adds a realistic touch. Numerous details in the somewhat stiff illustrations also provide a feeling of authenticity.
