On her first day at Moonrise Farm, puppy Maisie learns about the working animals' jobs and wonders how she will contribute. After some lessons from older sheepdog Laddie, Maisie helps free a stuck, scared lamb and proves herself worthy of a tiny flock of her own. Gauzy, digitally edited (somewhat overly so) "photo illustrations" depicting the fuzzy puppy and friends reinforce the reassuring tone of this slight story about finding one's place.
