Illustrated by
G. Brian Karas.
Ten mummies cavort in the desert and along the Nile where, as the amusing couplets reveal, their numbers quickly decrease. Karas makes this bandaged bunch engagingly individual with simply drawn facial expressions and animated stances as each is dispatched in a different manner: one arrested, another adopted by baboons, a third blown off in a sandstorm. A cheerfully offbeat addition to the counting-book genre.
