(4) YA Drake Chronicles series. Vampire princess Solange's inability to control her bloodlust (and the sinister voice in her head) endangers her human boyfriend and best friend and sows unrest among the vampire factions. Meanwhile, her brother Nicolas is kidnapped by vampires with an unclear agenda. There's plenty of exciting action and romance, but little character development and few real answers make for a confusing series entry.

In Blood Feud, Logan proves himself to a feral vampire princess by helping her seek revenge. In Out for Blood, Quinn and a human vampire hunter uncover a conspiracy inside the hunter academy. If the change doesn't kill her, Solange's power-hungry relatives might in order to prevent her from becoming queen as prophesied. Her feisty best friend and an unlikely ally-turned-love-interest round out this kicky vampire coming-of-age adventure.
