In this sequel to The Sterkarm Handshake, Andrea time-travels again, hoping to reunite with her sixteenth-century lover, but finds herself in "16A," parallel to, but different from, the original Sterkarm world. The novelty of Price's original conceit has worn off, and the action here--blood, sex, and revenge--has a gloomier edge, a more despondent view of human nature.
