In this introduction to farming, suitable for toddlers and preschoolers, a winsome group of four rabbits complete a series of farm chores. Factual insets on each page provide supplemental information, and a helpful appendix contains questions adults can ask children about the story. The appealing illustrations are neither sappy nor sentimental.

Walking home on Halloween eve, mouse thinks he sees scary creatures, but his mother shows him that they are all really just woodland animals. When the creatures come trick-or-treating, mouse is not fooled again--or is he? While the text's simple repetition has some appeal, gratuitous die-cut pages do little to enhance the overall package.
