This thought-provoking Danish import, with more appeal to adults than to young readers, depicts God in a very human predicament, limited to human capabilities and frailties, dependent on the kindness of man. God finds earth inhabited by rude, impatient adults lacking in godly attributes. In the end, it is a child who recognizes, listens to, and assists God. The mixed-media illustrations provide clever visual asides.
