In this sequel to The Roar, mutant twins Mika and Ellie use their psychic powers to unite a child army created by a manipulative tyrant and stop their government from destroying the world's remaining forests. The child army (trained by a video game battle school) and the twins' mutant superpowers evoke both Ender's Game and X-Men in this suspenseful, well-paced dystopian novel.

In a dystopian future London (walled off following the Animal Plague), mutant twins Ellie and Mika are in trouble. Ellie, kidnapped, is presumed dead by everyone but Mika, who must enter a virtual-reality arcade-game contest to win a chance at finding her. The book has plenty of fast-paced action, a deeply disturbing setting, and the expected Big Secret.
