This book introduces children to bridges throughout history, mostly chronologically, and from around the world, though mainly Europe. Striking photographs, key facts, and timelines accompany information about the bridges' construction and subsequent histories. Despite an attractive design, the book breaks from nonfiction design conventions in distracting ways (e.g., a counterclockwise table of contents, page numbers in the gutter). Glos.
