In this twist-laden trilogy closer set in repressive Education City, built around youth indoctrination, a final standoff between the rebel Truancy youth movement and the Government-created Student Militia turns into an uneasy alliance to face an external adult threat. Stock characters populate the large cast, and the plot careens more than unfolds, but Fukui's anti-violence message is emotionally resonant.

In this flashbacky prequel to Truancy, much is revealed of the falling-out between Zyid and Umasi. Both brothers hate their fascist society, but one becomes a violent rebel leader while the other is more inclined to wax poetical. There's some melodramatic brother-versus-brother wallowing to get through, but the story's fight scenes are vividly cinematic.

In a world where schools exist only to mold students into mindless automatons, Tack is pulled into a violent rebel movement called the Truancy. Mentored by a brilliant young pacifist and martial artist, Tack seeks a balance between passivity and mindless violence. His blood-soaked adventure, though action-packed, is less philosophical than it believes.
