In the middle of the night, someone knocks on Bear's door, demanding to be let in. Frightened Bear imagines the worst: a ghost? a witch? When the caller finally identifies himself, he turns out to be Bear's buddy, bringing some surprise friends. The engaging, suspenseful illustrations show Bear's fears, but there's no explanation for why the friend didn't identify himself immediately.
