(3) PS Illustrated by Teresa Murfin. Pursued by a fox, ten turkeys flee into the farmer's house. They find hiding places big enough for one, two, three, and so on, but no place is big enough to conceal all ten birds. What's more, an ominous-looking farmer is searching for them too. A cast of children in funny, quirky costumes acts out the rhyming text of this clever counting book.

(4) K-3 Illustrated by Donna Ingemanson. Families from twelve diverse countries cook up their specialties to serve at a vibrant block party, and the delicious recipes, such as salsa, sushi rolls, matzo ball soup, and vegetable curry are included at the back of the book. The narrative couplets scan poorly and force the rhyme, but the acrylic and oil folk-art illustrations are festive.
