(3) PS Illustrated by Chris Mould. When Prince Freddie learns about a dragon attack, he rushes to save the day...until he realizes he needs to pee. Each time he stops to relieve himself, he's interrupted by ogres, a princess in need, and other princely conundrums. The ridiculous plot, bathroom humor, and slapstick acrylic illustrations will have children in stitches, and repetition in the text works well for storytime.

(3) K-3 Illustrated by Steven Lenton. Frankie loves fairy tales, so she eagerly helps a princess, unicorn, mermaid, etc., who each show up in her home looking to hide from a witch. The satisfying closing twist reveals that they're all (the witch included) in on one big game of hide-and-seek. This play on fairy-tale tropes includes pastel-colored illustrations with humorous details (e.g., the king hiding under a lampshade).

(3) K-3 Illustrated by Roberta Angaramo. In this rewarding circular story, enthusiastic reader Dog, inspired by the story of Puss in Boots, embarks on a quest for some "Bow WOW" yet practical footwear. Assisted by a friendly shopkeeper, he goes through lots of different pairs in order to find his perfect fit. Textures and patterns enhance the humorous illustrations starring an expressive pooch.

(3) K-3 Illustrated by Lynne Chapman. Wolf Rocky thinks it'll be easy to rob an unsuspecting lamb traveling through his territory. However, before he even gets his hands on the box the lamb is carrying (which contains a comically large bejeweled crown), Rocky runs into so much trouble that he swears off nastiness forever. The colorful textured illustrations portray with comic relish the scrawny wolf's misfortunes.
