Two children go on a treasure hunt through their yard, gathering items in a wagon. At book's end, the kids meet their friends and stage a makeshift parade for their families. Carefree pastel, watercolor, and pencil drawings illustrate the story. The bilingual text contains short phrases in both Spanish and English, making this ideal for children just starting to read in either language.

A little boy, his sister, and their father are flying on an airplane to visit Grandma. The bilingual text masterfully uses only one or two words per page to tell a complete story. The soft, detailed watercolor illustrations help fill in the blanks, depicting the family's excited anticipation and joyful reunion with Abuelita.

A multiracial group of cherubic children goes through a school day, playing, painting, coloring, and learning. Each double-page spread features from one to four words printed in the same font (which could be confusing), first in Spanish then in English. This simple text can be used to introduce children to either language. The gently textured watercolors add to the book's idyllic feel.

After dreaming of dogs, a girl sees muchos perros outside. As the dogs romp through town, the text alternates between Spanish and English: "Perro negro. Perro blanco. Black dog. White dog. Perro liso. Perro rizado. Smooth dog. Curly dog," with a refrain adding to the rhythmic feel. The detailed watercolor and ink illustrations show a wide variety of funny pups.

As in Fiesta, Guy presents a basic concept (colors) in a bilingual text. A brother and sister gather different-colored items for a siesta. The final item is a rainbow-colored blanket. The simple text alternates between Spanish and English, repeating the word or phrase in both languages. The illustrations capture the warm and close sibling relationship.
