Claire needs a change from the well-worn routine she and best friend Ollie share, so she answers an ad for a travel companion. Happily, Ollie reveals himself to be the ad's author (which sharp-eyed readers may realize early on); together they embark on a round-the-world trip. Bouncy rhyme and expressive pencil and watercolor illustrations convey the dogs' excitement about going on an adventure--especially together.

When a monster loses his letter M (for "mean"), he becomes "Onster," incapable of being nasty. His friendly behavior results in ridicule from his fellow monsters but makes him popular with humans, and Onster decides his new personality suits him. The bouncy rhymes and digitally created illustrations are amusing, though the well-meaning lessons about individually and kindness are a bit obvious.
