Middle-school troll Zarf and his gang embark on a maritime adventure filled with sea monsters, mer-pigs, not-so-scary pirates, and bodily-function jokes galore. Despite all the hilarious dangers, Zarf sails back into harbor a hero. The third entry is still rather thin and familiar, but the series' enjoyable hallmarks--silly cartoon illustrations, comic one-liners, loyal friendships, fractured-fairy-tale characters--are here in spades.

Middle-school troll Zarf and his friends are back to save the kingdom of Notswin from a "big ol' storm of wolves" planning to get revenge on Little Red Riding Hood's daughter, who just happens to be Zarf's first crush. The plot is thin, but gross situations and cartoonish drawings with comic one-liners will send Wimpy Kid fans into giggles of disgusted delight.

Zarf the troll is just barely surviving middle school in a fractured-fairy-tale world when he accidentally insults the sniveling Prince Roquefort. Now Zarf must save the kingdom with his best friends, a fretful pig and an unfunny jester-in-training. Although this series-starter's thin plot isn't the freshest, Wimpy Kid fans will love the abundant potty humor and cartoonish line drawings.
