This book follows seven-year-old Polina, who lives with her parents in St. Petersburg, through a day at home and at school. Illustrated with mediocre photos, the informal text conveys basic cultural information. Russian words (with translations) are scattered throughout and listed in the glossary without any pronunciation help, but a page on language at book's end gives pronunciation for a few common phrases.
