In a bizarre series of events, high school seniors Kylie (social misfit, aspiring screenwriter) and Max (class heartthrob) are stranded in Mexico together the day before graduation. As the night progresses, they drink, let loose, and realize they're compatible. The (excessively lengthy) novel's message about challenging stereotypes is cloyingly obvious, though the multiple perspectives, movie quotes, and colorful setting add appeal.
