Beaver Buck hates his one big front tooth and worries it's keeping him from uncovering his talent for the town talent show. His unsuccessful attempts at pulling it leave him feeling defeated, but Buck grows to appreciate the tooth when it ends up being the key to his talent. The ending is predictable, but many visual jokes add value to this transitional reader.

Cat friends Ollie and Moon traverse New York City as Moon tries to win a bet that she can make Ollie laugh. Only when a pigeon poops on their heads do they both break down in uncontrollable laughter. While the story line isn't riveting, the playful cartoon illustrations superimposed on photographs are fun to study and give a great flavor of a friendly jaunt around the city.

Friends Ollie and Moon (who look like block-headed cats) take Paris as the former tries to get the latter to guess his big surprise for her. The two cartoony characters frolic against gorgeous color photos of Paris--clearly this rather limply plotted story's true raison d'être. Still, Ollie and Moon's exchanges, including occasional potty humor, are droll.
