An artwork reproduction featuring an animal baby faces two words in large type ("baby deer," "baby here") and a smaller captionlike sentence identifying the animal ("Baby birds hatch from eggs"). Cumulatively, the large-type words form a poem that weaves the art together thematically. Young children will enjoy finding playful animal babies interpreted in various media. Thumbnails identify each work at the end.

Full-page reproductions of Cassatt's paintings of mothers and children each face two words of simple text ("baby sits," "baby hands," "baby feeds") in this book published in collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Sure it's gimmicky, but babies (and their caregivers) will enjoy recognizing the familiar activities in Cassatt's work. Information about each of the sixteen pieces is appended.
