Although the book ends with a fairy story, most of the volume consists of "facts" about the Wee People, such as the materials they use for clothing, the food they like to eat, and descriptions of the magical powers they wield. Guidelines for fairy watching are included as well. Much of the lighthearted text serves as captions for the fanciful illustrations, with arrows pointing to the details described.
