Africa: Progress & Problems series.
With an introduction common to all the volumes, this series gives a comprehensive picture of Africa's sociopolitical problems and issues. Ethnic Groups is written with some personality, but the others read like textbooks; still, each volume offers a wealth of information, albeit unsourced. Education and Modern Africa have timelines. There are seven other fall 2006 books in this series. Reading list, websites. Glos., ind. Review covers these Africa: Progress & Problems titles: Ecological Issues, Civil Wars in Africa, Education in Africa, Ethnic Groups in Africa, The Making of Modern Africa, and Poverty and Economic Issues.
