This descriptive story follows young Manta Ray as she learns to feed, meets other rays, and evades predators. In a somewhat abrupt shift in the plot, Manta Ray, now fully grown, becomes involved in a close call with a fishing boat. Still, the narrative, an endnote, and the soft, realistic watercolors offer an interesting glimpse into the life of these elusive creatures. Glos.
