A law is proposed to strip chimeras--people who've had their genes spliced with animal DNA--of their rights. Philly girl Jimi, who isn't into body modifications, wouldn't care except her reckless friend Del is set on getting spliced himself. This tense story of a dystopic but very-possible near future challenges bigotry of all forms as well as what it means to be human.
