In Penelope the dog’s family, everyone else has a job, so Penelope decides to get a job, too. She attempts to be a fire dog, a sheepdog, a police dog, and a show dog but isn’t suited for any of those positions. Luckily, a visit to Grandpop at the senior home provides inspiration. The warm, collage-style illustrations humorously depict Penelope’s failures and show off her pride in her eventual success.
