Holly, a precocious young hare, tries to takes over for her uncle Herbert, owner of the Hare House, the best salon in town. By whipping up outrageous coiffures for all the animals that visit the shop while Herbert is in the stockroom, she gives her uncle the shock of his life. The humorous illustrations depict the animal inhabitants in their unusual new hairdos. The story is mildly diverting, but it's a one-joke book.
