(2) PS OHora (Sonny Says "Mine!", rev. 9/21; Fuzzy, Inside & Out) employs his signature bold outlines and vibrant acrylic colors in this rollicking story of shaggy gray dog-child Elise and the adoring little sister, Rosemont, who emulates her every move. Elise usually likes to spend time with her sibling, but she cannot stand being copied. When Elise dresses as a pickle on Halloween, Rosemont dons a cornichon costume. When Elise wears ribbons or learns to play the sousaphone, guess who does the same? Rosemont even takes credit for the cookie soup Elise invented. OHora throws in funny visual gags during these scenes of comical distress. A black cat reacts in shock to Rosemont's Halloween outfit. Tiny Rosemont plays her sousaphone inside Elise's larger instrument. Making cookie soup also means making quite a mess. The book uses some comics conventions, including occasional panels; the irregular shape of some speech bubbles reflects the turbulent emotions Elise feels. Things reach a crisis point at a friend's birthday party: Rosemont not only crashes the celebration, but also copies Elise's gift of a homemade rainstick (instructions appended). Elise angrily leaves the event, but Rosemont comes to her aid. An enjoyable, storytime-ready, sibling-themed romp.

(2) K-3 Gemma, her dad, and cat Ralph live across the apartment hall from Dilla, his mom, and cat Niblet. Fast friends Ralph and Niblet decide to sneak out and visit, but they cross paths and end up at the other's place. Searching for their lookalike pets brings Gemma and Dilla together in friendship. OHora's text is spare and sly, and his thick-lined, saturated-hued acrylic illustrations provide additional details.

(2) PS "It appeared there was a monster in the library." Oskar and his stuffed bear Theodore try running away, hiding, and even diplomacy, but they only make the hungry monster angrier. Acrylic paintings in rich colors show a creature with huge feet and many small heads. The narrative's deadpan humor and entertaining speech-bubble dialogue work with clever page layouts to maximize the silliness.

(2) K-3 Two squirrel siblings excitedly await cousin Momo's visit. Unlike them, he's a flying squirrel--and they soon learn the differences don't stop there. The children complain that Momo is no fun, hurting Momo's feelings. They apologize and learn the benefits of trying things "Momostyle." Thick lines, bold colors, pitch-perfect sound effects, and generous white space make OHora's illustrations vibrantly kid-centric.

(3) K-3 When Amelia's loose-cannon pet gorilla, Nilson, throws fits, she calms him. But their roles reverse when the ice cream truck runs out of banana ice cream right before Amelia's turn. In acrylic illustrations that recall woodcuts, Nilson is a giant--until book's end, when, cuddling with Amelia, he's stuffed-animal-size; this nods to the story's fantasy aspect while preserving its sweet emotional essence.

(4) K-3 Bernard is driving the other zoo otters bonkers with his snoring; he tries to find a new berth, but the rest of the zoo animals are no less irritated by his din. The book ends unimaginatively: the otters track down Bernard and tell him that they miss him. OHora's handsome, thickly outlined acrylic paintings have the eye-pleasing appearance of woodcuts.
