Harper Raine's family takes a trip to a remote Caribbean island. Harper experiences visions of disappearing islanders and must rely on her spirit-hunting skills and help from new friends, human and ghost, to save the day. Delightfully spooky and with a cast of well-drawn multicultural characters, Oh’s second Spirit Hunters tale should appeal to a wide audience.

Harper's new house may be haunted. Her little brother is acting strangely, and Harper has disturbing dreams and visions of the house's previous inhabitants. To save her brother from possession, Harper will need to explore her own connection to ghosts. The slowly building sense of dread and tension makes this a good pick for readers who prefer chills over gore in their horror stories.

In this action-packed trilogy-ender (Prophecy; Warrior), Kira must rescue the prince and find the last treasure before she can face the demon lord and fulfill the prophecy. But none of that will matter if the demon lord takes control of her first. Though the supporting cast is two-dimensional, Kira's emotional journey to self-actualization is believable.

In this sequel to Prophecy, Kira has to collect the second mystical item in her quest to stop the demon lord, all the while protecting her young cousin who is the true heir to the throne. Tight plotting balances Kira's personal growth with lots of action. Despite flat secondary characters, fans of traditional fantasy quest narratives will find plenty to enjoy.

Mystical demon slayer Kira is the prince's bodyguard. When a demon invasion forces her and the prince to flee, they must decipher an ancient prophecy to save their kingdom. In spite of good structure, a vivid ancient-Asia setting, and exciting fight scenes, flat characters and Kira's inability to acknowledge her own emotions never take this book beyond a generic magical-savior tale.
