In these verses, which read clumsily unless the reader learns their rhythm by listening to the accompanying CD, each of eleven characters is hungry, so the narrator promises him or her a custom-made pie. The verses get increasingly outrageous, as do the proportions of Ebbeler's exaggerated characters, rendered in acrylics and colored pencil. Music is included.
