These animals don't just go in by twos! Taking the titular folk song as her theme, Paley offers images of the animals going in four by four ("The bulls stomped in, Noah waved for more"), five by five ("Five fluffy llamas did arrive"), and so on, in textured, layered, and vividly colored cut-paper collages. The song's tune is included at the beginning of the book.
