In their second adventure, Simon Bloom and sidekicks branch out from physics to biology, absorbing DNA they'll need to save the universe from vengeful Sirabetta. The story moves along at a gleeful pace, with the spotlight less on the self-aware omniscient narrator and more squarely focused on wacky hijinks and creative, pseudo-scientifically explained inventions (e.g., nose-propelled flight).

Simon finds a teacher's edition physics textbook that grants him control over the laws of the universe. The story is told by a self-aware, intentionally didactic (though unintentionally grating) omniscient narrator who's dragged kicking and screaming through the fourth wall by Simon and friends. This derivative but entertaining adventure rejoices in its fast-paced, affectionate silliness.
