DK Toddler Story Book series.
Illustrated by
Carol Thompson.

Share-a-Story series.
Illustrated by
Selina Young.
Mrs. Wolf finds a duck egg and brings it home, hoping for a tasty meal. When Funny Feet hatches, he imprints on Mrs. Wolf, softening her heart and foiling her dinner plans. Lighthearted watercolor illustrations extend the humorous text's portrayal of the duo's unlikely relationship. The endpapers include reading tips and suggestions for story-related activities.

Underscoring the adage that familiarity breeds contempt, Pig and Hippo's friendship is tested when Hippo clips the hedge between their houses, making the friends privy to each other's most unappealing foibles: Hippo chews his toenails, Pig gorges herself on sweets. As the hedge grows back, the pair renew their friendship, "but ever after, back in their own homes...they did exactly as they pleased!" Watercolors lightheartedly capture the pair's not-so-private follies.
