This storytime book begins like the classic song...but then the bus gets a flat tire. The verses and rhymes work well throughout and are easy to sing, while sunny colors and cuddly animal characters reassure readers that a happy ending is on the way. With lots of help--and eleven more verses--the animals fix the wheel and head off to a picnic.

The step-by-step construction of a high-rise office building is described with a brief text and colorful cut-paper illustrations. The machines and building materials are labeled (from dump truck to site agent to concrete slabs), and the pithy text describes each stage of construction. This straightforward approach will satisfy future builders while it provokes curiosity about building.
