Once at Mundham, Tom adjusts to his new, strange reality -- his uncle Jack is a magician under siege from some shadowy outside force, and Tom is required to “walk the bounds” daily, strengthening the protective spells using his own newfound powers. Following Womack’s plot as it twists and twines, readers will enjoy discovering this new scion grafted onto an old British folklore tradition.

(4) YA While at boarding school, Edward is entrusted with the Other Book, a mysterious tome with terrifying powers and a will of its own. He must keep it from malicious Lady Anne, who seeks the book for evil. Despite a frustratingly slow pace that withholds key information for too long, this fantasy lures readers with chilling villains and a layered plot.
