Although the goal of this mini-biography is to teach values, the only heavy-handed moments are in the concluding Study Guide's questions and answers. In an overcrowded design, sprightly prose and mediocre cartoon illustrations introduce the history-making African-American baseball player. The "value" Robinson embodies is an integral, but not overwhelming, element.
