Time-walker Sam's best friend, Glory, steps more into the spotlight in this second book (The Legend of Sam Miracle), with a younger novice version of Sam's mentor, Father Tiempo, and a creature from before time to aid their fight. Despite the series' bumbled cultural appropriation, plentiful action and new discoveries will please followers.

(4) 4-6 Illustrated by Forrest Dickison. In twelve-year-old Sam Miracle's recurring daydreams, he's an intrepid hero instead of an orphan with immobilized arms living at a youth ranch. When he learns those dreams are actually memories from past lives, he's thrust into a time-travel adventure to fulfill a prophecy. Though the characters are conventional, this series-starter, part tall tale, part Western, part science fiction, is full of engrossing action.
