(4) PS Illustrated by Jane Dippold. While at the farmers' market with her parents, a little girl shops for produce and explores the wares, unknowingly tipping over displays as she goes. She ultimately finds what she really wants: "a watering can that's just my size!" While the story is a little too simple, the tone of the rhyming text matches the lighthearted illustrations packed with colorful fruits and veggies.

(4) K-3 Illustrated by Jane Dippold. A gentile grandfather tells his Jewish granddaughter the story of Jethro (Moses's Midianite father-in-law) and his Jewish grandson, Moses's son Gershom. The parallels between modern-day family and the biblical one are effective, but the storytelling is confusing. An author's note and the text itself promote the agenda of encouraging acceptance within interfaith families. Sand-color illustrations exude familial warmth.

(3) PS Illustrated by Jane Dippold. This book demonstrates the different ways animal babies travel or are transported by their parents from place to place. The illustrations cleverly combine color photographs of the animals with lively watercolor and colored-pencil drawings of human babies traveling in similar ways. The rhythmic text will appeal to young listeners while they are also learning about animal behavior.
