Following Georgia O'Keeffe's daily routine, Lasky's precisely observed narrative describes details of the artist's life and work during her later years in New Mexico. Eitan's spare, well-balanced art uses a restrained color palette and a technique resembling linocut or torn-paper collage; the simplicity of the illustrations matches O'Keeffe's own personal sensibility. Appended text tells more about the artist. Bib.

"Scuba bunnies / Bold and brave / Sink beneath / A rolling wave." After their baths, various bunnies say goodbye to their mamas, don scuba gear, and head for the ocean, where they encounter lots of different marine animals. Though this book isn't as engaging as the Cowboy Bunnies and Astro Bunnies outings, the rhymes here are solid and the mixed-media art gives the bunnies personality.

Fitzgerald's simple song forms the text for this dynamically designed rendition in which a boy loses his letter (in a green and yellow basket), asks people on his city street for help finding it, and eventually gets it back. Unfortunately, the mixed-media collage illustrations, while artistically intriguing, tend to be confusing rather than illuminating.

In this simple, ingenious board book, the text consists solely of the three words in the title. A little girl spends the day with her beloved stuffed bear, getting him up in the morning, tossing him up and down, and so on. The girl's adventures are small but compelling, thanks to Ora Eitan's illustrations, which are Carrot Seed-like in their simplicity and expressive use of line.

From the bunnies' initial aspiration, to reach the stars, the musical text deftly captures a young child's sensibilities, depicting joys such as pockets, buttons to push, waving good-bye, and zipping and zooming through the sky, as well as such genuinely important tasks as collecting moondust for scientists. Eitan's art, including gouache and computer manipulation, perfectly reflects the gentle spirit of the adventure.

A page or two of text briefly explains the significance of each holiday and its traditions; the entries are often embellished by a story, song, activity, or recipe. The book is invaluable for its inclusion of several holidays rarely (if ever) mentioned in secular children's literature; the warm, playful illustrations and attractive presentation make it a sure bet for holiday gift-giving.
