"Big Questions" ("Why was Bear being mean to the others?") and "Big Words" (brief glossaries) are appended. (4) K-3 Ready-to-Read: Dino School series. Illustrated by John Gordon. Pete the Pterodactyl can do things his classmates can't: catch high balls, inspect clouds for rain, etc. T. rex Teddy is sad that he can't fly until Triceratops Tina reminds him that he's good at other things. The unoriginal story is easy for emergent readers to navigate, and many will relate to Teddy's jealousy. Illustrations feature amiable creatures and pops of texture.

(4) K-3 Ready-to-Read: Dino School series. Illustrated by John Gordon. It's Teddy the Tyrannosaurus rex's first day at Dino School. Everyone is excited to meet him, but their new classmate is really loud. After a few quick reminders from his teacher, Teddy understands when to use his "inside roar." The slight story will be easy for new readers to conquer if not particularly satisfying. The energetic illustrations feature pops of texture.
