(2) K-3 Illustrated by Yu Rong. Dowson treats youngsters to a year in the life of a Chinese panda and her cub. Mother panda's facial features are beautifully rendered in black and white in contrast to the delicate watercolor backgrounds of green, blue, brown, and gray. Each double-page spread contains a fact, set apart from the story, relating to their journey. Ind.
