(4) PS Illustrated by Steve Wilson. A hedgehog who insists that he is trying to sleep is getting steamed: "you" keep turning on the light. Is it to torment him, or because he asked for a drink of water ("I did? Really?")? Readers who like wisecracks, silliness, and slapstick will appreciate this somewhat frantic anti-soporific, whose narrative evolves in panels filled with action sounds and griping.

In this well-done primer, a triangle, circle, and square, each with basic facial features, take readers on a rhymed tour of geometric shapes ("Some shapes stack / Some shapes don't / Eggs and balls are shapes that won't"). The brightly colored forms showcased in the rhymes have glossy, slightly raised surfaces that invite touch.

The simple, descriptive text is well supported by blocky, colorful illustrations. Blue swirls covered with touchable glitter dance across the vibrant pages, providing tactile and visual fun.
