Proficiently written folktales about talking horses who save their riders and outwit their foes form this collection, each story introduced by a blurb about horse breeds in the story's country of origin. Lush acrylic paintings make the breeds seem rather homogenous, as are the tales, despite their different backgrounds. Notes in the back of the book offer sources.
