On her way to market, little Jenna befriends a series of animals with whom she compares body parts and their uses (an elephant's trunk versus her nose, a robin's beak versus her mouth, and so on). Jenna and the animals' matter-of-fact curiosity sounds genuinely childlike, while Schwartz's illustrations are as clean and simple as the satisfying text.
