After studious Emily and football player Lucas each witnesses a sexual assault on developmentally disabled schoolmate Belinda and do nothing, the school assigns them community service at the Lifelong Learning Center. The wide variety of distinct characters, some with disabilities and some without, show that the presence or absence of a disability is just one of many aspects of who a person is.
