This uneven girl-power-focused anthology presents fifteen historical-fiction short stories that span from 1710 "British North America" to the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The female protagonists are from diverse backgrounds, including a black pirate and a teacher in 1870s Wyoming territory. Some narratives aren't fully developed, but contributions from Elizabeth Wein, Y. S. Lee, Kekla Magoon, and editor Spotswood are compelling.
