This fourth chapter book about Beany is as accessible as the previous ones. Beany dreads her first experience at summer camp. Her transformation from reluctant participant to avid fan is predictable but still convincing. The inviting format, with plenty of cheerful, expressive illustrations, is as congenial as the heroine.
