Illustrated by
Olivier Tallec.
Throughout the seasons, Little Wolf pines for a particular leaf high in a tree. Despite Big Wolf's assurance that it will fall, the leaf clings to its branch until Big climbs to disengage it. The allegory of Brun-Cosme's tale of delayed gratification may elude readers, but they will be engaged by the elongated wolf-snouts and vertiginous viewpoints of Tallec's illustrations.
